In Order of Appearance
In Order of Appearance
Premiere of In order of appearance. Presented as part of OVNi, the international video art festival in Nice, within the Hotel Route, where artists create in situ installations inside hotel rooms.
In order of appearance opens the forthcoming album C’est pour ça. The track emerges from an ongoing collaboration between saxophonist Rémi Fox and musician and researcher Jérôme Nika, where improvisation, listening, and machine intelligence unfold together. The video accompanying the piece was co-created with Vir Andres Hera.
The work was presented in the Claudio Parmiggiani Room at Hotel Windsor Nice. Entirely conceived in situ by the artist, the room is bathed in a golden monochrome light. This light functions as an active presence, echoing the microscopic images that structure the video. Gold becomes a medium through which scales collapse: from the cellular to the architectural.
Moving between sound, image, and duration, In order of appearance operates through resonance rather than illustration. Improvised gestures, electronic processes, and visual fragments meet in a shared temporality, where perception drifts and recomposes itself.
