For over six decades, the Salon de Montrouge has supported emerging artistic practices through an exhibition format that combines presentation, production, and public encounter. Curated by Coline Davenne and Guillaume Désanges, the 66th edition treats visibility as a working condition rather than an outcome, allowing artworks, performances, and research stages to be presented in open, processual forms that remain subject to discussion and engagement throughout the exhibition.

Within this framework, Vir Andres Hera presents work situated at the intersection of moving image, sound, and language, engaging with opacity, transmission, and embodied forms of knowledge. Alongside the exhibited pieces, Hera presented a raw, work-in-progress version of Le Daftar, a multi-screen project shown as a research stage rather than a fixed installation. This open format allowed the work to remain discussable, porous, and unresolved, foregrounding process over completion and inviting dialogue around its future forms.
As articulated in a text by Eva Barois De Caevel written for the Salon de Montrouge 2022 catalogue: “Hera’s practice unfolds from interstitial spaces between languages, bodies, and territories, reworking fragments of language and history in order to question inherited narratives and colonial legacies. This attention to relational processes and emancipatory imaginaries situates their work within a practice of listening, where voices, memory, and translation remain in constant negotiation.” » 1 «
